In June of 2015,  it was announced that the Detroit and West Michigan Annual Conferences voted overwhelmingly to create one single conference for the Michigan Area by 2019. This decision followed more than 2 years of listening sessions and area conversations on how the Michigan Area felt called by God to create disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.   The vote also included a request that the bishop create a Design Team to continue the work of listening and creating this “new thing” in Michigan.  This team meets regularly to move the process of creating a new annual conference in Michigan.  Your ideas, questions, comments and concerns are needed to help move this important work forward.  Please email [email protected]

Meet the new districts

At Annual Conference 2017, members overwhelmingly voted to form 9 new districts.  A diverse task force has worked months to form these new districts.

The Design Team meets monthly.  Materials shared during those meetings are available for you to read and download.
